Often times on set, a line will be swallowed, reguritated, and possibly eaten. During fight scenes, it's increasingly difficult for the cast to make themselves heard.

Enter ADR - "Additional Dialogue Recording" -- otherwise known as "looping." The actor watches themselves on screen and speaks in time with their own lips.
